PADDLES CROPS CANES WHIPS image

Leather floggers, whips, crops, canes, bats, and paddles are available in a variety of forms and are used in many BDSM and bondage fantasies. When used, they cause the blood supply to rise to the surface, resulting in the area being paddled to tingle and glow bright red, as this spreads it causes the genital area to be stimulated.

Leather Floggers have multiple strips and are made from a variety of materials, such suede, leather and rubber.

Leather Whips have a single strand of plain or plaited leather. The most common forms of these whips are Stock Whip and Bull Whip, although there are many other types used in the bush. A Stock Whip has a hinged handle, a Bull Whip has a continuous plait from the handle to the cracker at the end of the whip. These whips vary in length from 1.2m (dairy whip) to 3m (working whip) or even longer.

Crops riding crops are used by jockey’s and horse riders, they are usually made leather or nylon plaited round a flexible core with a small leather slapper on the end.

Bats are similar to crops, but with a larger tab on the end.

Canes are made from bamboo, reed or rattan, although there are now metal versions available. The traditional school masters or mistresses cane had a curved handle, but these days a straight handle is used more often than not. It is interesting to note that the caning fetish is one the few diminishing fetishes, as corporal punishment in the school system has been phased out, so has the number of people acquiring the caning fetish.

Paddles are traditionally made from one or two pieces of leather, they vary in size according to personal preference, some are plain, others have studs or holes in the leather. The more modern versions of paddles are made in materials such wood, rubber and light weight metals eg. aluminium.


All of these items should be used with the up most caution, excessive use could cause permanent damage. Often the sexual pleasure of being flogged, whipped, caned, or paddled can mask the pain that would indicate serious injury.
