Gags are used to muffle speech or noise during bdsm & bondage play. No gag completely blocks the ability to make sound. Simple gags are made by tying a scarf around the head or by using sticky tape.

Do not use cloth into the mouth, because the cloth will expand with saliva and can choke a person.

The most common gag is ball gag, which has a rubber ball on a leather strap or metal chain. There are gags that use a rubber horse bit. These can be used for pony girl play or as a gag that allows a person to bite down hard (a bit gag might be used in combination with spanking, paddling, or whipping).
